Why are posters on DailyKos attacking the blogger who broke ';bittergate';?

It really is hard to believe this stuff but its in the NYTimes;

';Comments on dailykos.com became so furious that one poster suggested that readers let Ms. Fowler [the blogger who broke ';bittergate';] off the hook.

“No,” someone else responded, “if we let her go, others will do it... We’ve got to show the ‘journalist’ that they can’t manufacture dissent. This isn’t about Obama, this could easily be a story about Iraq or Iran. This is the type of disingenuous reporting that we have to stop. We need to make an example of her.”

To go after a conflicted sixty one year old woman like that, when all she thought she was doing was being a journalist is very low imo.

Liberals are all for free speech....

as long as it doesn't stray from their beliefs. Why are posters on DailyKos attacking the blogger who broke ';bittergate';?
It sounds like they are making a call for truth, not a bad thing. It is equal to everyone that rightly got mad about what Dan Rather did. If someone is trying to pass off a made up lie as the truth it is unethical. I can't see how anyone could be against responsible journalism.
Liberals are all about free speech, unless of course the speech is in disagreement with them. Then they want censorship. Look at how they try to ban talk radio.
in the kos defense, they hate everyone, even themselves.
Turth hurts.
DAILY KOS ARE COMMUNISTS...

who hate free speech and truth.
Journalist have a responsibility also. If your in a closed meeting in a corporate board room, and you give the information. you can be jailed for it. any and all information should not be divulged, and it seems that with journalist now, it is all for the sake of sales or money.

When FDR was president, there was a strict rule to only take photos of him while sitting, or standing behind a podium. he had polio, and wore braces, and they felt like that would cast a bad image to the public. nothing is sacred anymore, John F. Kennedy had affairs, but the press felt it taboo, and would never report something like that.

it is all about morals and doing what is right. we are turning the news into tabloids
Um... there we go again with the labels!

GarrettS, Michelle, and Blue Eyes, please tell me, how does anyone to the left of you automatically become an enemy of free speech and all that is good? *rolling on the floor laughing*

And Michelle, a couple of paragraphs on exactly what you think Communism is, if you please? LOL

Not even about whether someone is liberal or not, it's just more boneheaded 'cheer squad' behaviour as far as I can see. Last time I checked, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama BOTH fell under the common definition of ';liberal';.

But then again, that definition changes according to whatever Republicans want it to be, it seems like... *rolls eyes*

Just like that pesky word 'Communism'... seems like it means all sorts of things lately that it never appeared to last time I checked my dictionary *sticks tongue out*

PS- Sorry 'here to help'- I can see how some people are against responsible journalism, especially many Republicans... but then again, I'm more cynical than you are.
